"Godfather Death"

When you are born the 13th child of your family things can be rough, but they can get a whole lot worse if your Godfather happens to be Death. In the story Godfather Death things go from bad to worse in a second. There isn’t any way to fix things either; it’s either deal with it or death. Watch out, death can come to you like a lion, looking for someone to devour. Through the symbols in this irony, the reader sees that the enemy is death.

First, some of the symbols in this story are the candles, the candles in this story were supposed to represent how long we had to live. The cave that the candles were in was dark, which means darkness which means evil. Death is evil. He plots and schemes against people to make them fall for his good act. The candles are light because they are peoples’ lives and they are fighting against death to remain living. They are trying to resist death and live forever. Life is one big battle life against death and it has been that way since the beginning of time and nothing could change that.

Secondly, this story was quite ironic, because the godson couldn’t control his own life because his godfather death was. I thought that this story was incredibly unrealistic, because you could never have God or death be your godfather so this story in a way didn’t even make sense. Also it is unrealistic because I don’t think that death really keeps candles in a cave that count down your life. A godparent is supposed to be a family friend not death. If your godfather is death than I have some bad news for you, your life road is short, under construction; it’s the end of the line for you.

In conclusion, this story is sad how in the end death wins any way because, we all have to die at some point in time. And those candles in the cave show whether you have a long life or a short one. Sometimes it will be short, sometimes it will be long. You have to be on the good side of death to get a long, happy life though because if you were like his godson things will not be good if you aren’t.

Invisible

Nobody knows who I am. I am Invisible. No-one ever sees me. I am Invisible. You will never find me. I am Invisible. No, we have never met, nor will we ever. I am Invisible. You can't ever find me because I am Invisible. Momma doesn't know me. I am Invisible. Daddy doesn't know me. I am Invisible.
Why am I Invisible? Because; I AM A GHOST.

The Necklace

I know that you lost it. You know that you are guilty; you just can’t stop the lies from slipping out can you? In "The Necklace", Mr. and Mrs. Loisel have lost something and they will stop at nothing to find it. You may think that they are crazy but, you are wrong. They are just your everyday, ordinary couple and they are real true friends who will go to the end and back to find one simple necklace that is causing a whole lot of problems.

First, when we lose something we feel numb and useless. We are like cooked spaghetti, limp and shaky. That is how the Loisel’s feel.
The Necklace, a friends treasure, pride and glory, is also a problem for many. The Necklace in all its shiny silver. The rare jewels that are in it. It must be worth a fortune right? When Mrs. Loisel’s friend, Madame Forestier, loaned a necklace to her, her world tipped right over. She could never afford anything of such beauty in her life, yet here it was laying around her neck right now. Heading home now Mrs. Loisel, does not realize that the priceless pearls have slipped off her neck. What a shame for such a loss. And what a shame for such a loss of money and time this poor couple will lose because of it. They search day and night. Until it comes to their attention that they will have to replace it. It takes them ten years to pay it off, but they do it and they feel content. The return the necklace to Madame Forestier and continue their lives. Sometimes our lives are like this; we will have something that we love just slip away, and totally forget it ever was there to begin with.

Secondly, the symbol of the story are only the necklace. The Necklace provided light but, now it means darkness. When you have something your life is bright and good, but when you lose it your life seems terrible and dark, lifeless and panicky. When you try to replace it; life gets a tad better but you are worried about being caught for what you did. If you just apologize the sun will come out again and it will feel like a new day! The Necklace gave Mrs. Loisel hope that her life would be good and she would become rich or something like that. The sun never came out in her world though. It let her come crashing down to feel alone and dark.

Finally, this story taught me that when something good starts to happen it won’t always end good. There aren’t always happy endings in life. Sometimes things won’t always turn out the way you planned. It’s like a speed bump of life; the road is smooth for the most part but, then there is a speed bump that you have to get over. When you do you feel better, when you don’t you feel frustrated.
